DJI Spark… Have you heard of it? It’s a brand-new miniature drone that just began shipping a couple of days ago. With a name DJI standing behind it, it is pretty obvious that this little fella could be the best mini drone of 2017.
If you joined the bandwagon and already preordered this beauty, then you must be looking for a proper case to match it. We all know just how important cases are which is why you should not take it for granted. It will protect your drone and other accessories from all sorts of impacts, allowing you to have no worries while transporting it from point A to point B. So, with all that in mind, let’s take a closer look at the best cases for DJI Spark available on the market!
Should you buy a case for DJI Spark?
If this is the question you asked yourself right after purchasing this little bugger, then you are on the right track. You want a direct answer? Well, yes – you definitely should buy a case for DJI Spark. Sure, you can drag it around in backpacks, purses… as a matter of fact, DJI Spark is so tiny it can easily fit into a (big) pocket. But, that could lead to your drone getting hassled around which could result in potential damage. As is the case with all other drones, DJI Spark’s weakest spot are its propellers. Even though they’re made out of high quality materials, they cannot sustain twists and turns that are bound to happen if you’re carrying it in a lousy backpack.
On the other hand, if you dedicate an entire backpack or case just for Spark, there’s no doubt it will have a much better time. Usually, they come with various cutouts that are made specially for the drone and all of its respective accessories, making packing a proper breeze. What’s even better – you can pick them up for relatively cheap. Sure, there are premium models available too, but if you are looking for the most basic of protection features, entry level models will do just fine. So, with all that said, why don’t we dig into the subject and see what exactly should you look for in a case for your drone!
What should you look for in a case?
The first thing you need to make sure before jumping to purchase is that your desired case does indeed support DJI Spark. This could be a bit tricky since there aren’t that many cases designed specifically for this device. Of course, that is not surprising since it just came out and started shipping a couple of days ago. Other than that, you should also make sure your case has enough space/cutouts to fit all of your accessories. And, last but not least, if you’re planning on purchasing a backpack, keep in mind that you’re going to be attached to it for the entire course of your flight/road trip. That’s why you should go for a comfortable one, preferably with padded shoulder straps and backside.

So, what’s special about this drone case? Well, first of all, it is important to note this little bugger is extremely cheap. It will set you back as much as a half decent meal in a solid restaurant. Yes, that cheap! For those of you who think it must suck since it’s so cheap, well you’re not correct. Even though it’s not made out of highest quality materials, CaseSack Protection Case can still do what it claims to do – protect your drone.
You won’t get state of the art impact protection though, but for this price, it is more than decent. In terms of extra accessories this thing can fit, you’re only looking at the basics including extra propellers and batteries. That’s understandable though, since its price tag is nothing short of ridiculous.
Fheaven Protective Case
The overall build is quite sturdy for such a cheap price. In fact, I’m pretty sure DJI Spark would survive massive drops while being inside of this little bugger. It’s still not a hard case though, so don’t go all crazy on it. While Fheaven Protective Case might be good in terms of basic protection, it is not built for anything more than that. That’s because it is made out of EAV+PU leather which is water and scratch resistant.
In terms of storage space, Fheaven Protective case can fit the drone, controller, 2 extra batteries, cables, props and all other miniature accessories. Additionally, it also incorporates a mesh compartment for storing your phone, keys and similar things. All things considered, for such a small price Fheaven is definitely worth it!
Hard Cases for DJI Spark :
GBSELL Waterproof Hardshell Case
Take this GBSELL’s waterproof hardshell case as a proper example. It comes in several different colors and packs quite a punch in terms of overall level of protection. This is due to a thick layer of PP on the outside which protects it from suffering any damage and dense EVA on the inside which tightly secures your belongings and makes sure they don’t waddle around during your travels.
In terms of accessories that this thing supports, most of you will be quite happy. Not only does it fit DJI Spark and its dedicated controller but extra propellers as well as 3 extra batteries. This is not surprising considering we’re talking about a case that has the following proportions: 33 x 25.5 x 13 centimeters. With that in mind, I’d like to urge you to go ahead and purchase GBSELL Waterproof Hardshell Case as soon as you can since it can be found for 50$ off on Amazon.
Esimen Professional DJI Spark Case
Moving forward, for slightly over $20, you will get a miniature carrying case that can fit your drone cables, propellers and 2 batteries. Sure, that’s not a lot of things, but it’s still respectable considering the price tag. Esimen made this one out of EVA and 1680D nylon which go perfectly well with each other. Combination of these 2 materials ensure solid blunt impact protection as well as drops, shocks and similar issues.
Your drone, as well as all other accessories you place alongside it, will be secured in tightly with precise cutouts. With all that being said, Esimen Professional DJI Spark Case seems like a great choice… if not for its solid characteristics then surely for its ridiculously affordable price tag.
