Today we’re here for JJRC H25G review. It is a large FPV (First Person View) quadcopter, a type of drone which has become widely popular lately. Most used for photography and videography JJRC H25G is an affordable quadcopter with useful features and great specifications. Another amazing drone which we highly recommend to anyone looking for a 5.8 GHz FPV drone at an affordable price. If you are interested in more amazing and affordable JJRC products please check our reviews of the: the X1 JJRC’s first brushless motor quadcopter; H11D an affordable FPV (First Person View) quadcopter; H8D another FPV quadcopter; JJRC H26D a recent large drone with a 3MP camera and a 2-Axis Gimbal; There is also another version of this H25 model, the H25W much like this one but instead of including a built-in 5.8 GHz FPV screen it uses pilot’s device as monitor and transmits via WiFi.
First of all JJRC H25G comes in a complete FPV (real time video transmission) package, everything you need is included. However, H25G does not come fully assembled, due to its larger size, pilot will have to assemble the H25G. If you are a beginner there is no need to worry, the package also includes clear instructions on how to assemble it. Many new FPV drones use pilot’s mobile device to display the live video, but not H25G, it includes its own FPV LCD monitor attached to the RC controller. Screen’s brightness can be adjusted according to light conditions allowing the pilot to change its display setting to the most useful configuration for a clear screen even in strong daylight (most low-cost FPV monitors don’t take this into consideration). Camera is 2MP capable of recording at 720p resolution, the angle can be easily adjusted downward or upward prior to take-off according to pilot’s recording needs. The FPV camera is installed through a vibration absorbing camera mount with 4 dumping balls which reduce the ‘jello effect’. One of the best things about JJRC H25G is the capability to immediately playback screen recorded photos and videos. Once again another feature not common among FPV fliers within this price range.
Flying is easy
H25G is a very smooth and stable flier, even the most beginner of beginners won’t have a hard time learning to fly this quadcopter. It has a very decent lifting power mainly due to its decent brushed motors, larger size (50 x 50 x 18 cm) and somewhat powerful 2s 7.4V 1800mah Li-Po battery. This battery is capable of powering up to 10 minutes of flight time depending on the camera usage. If flying FPV and recording video at same time the flight time will reduce to 7 to 8 minutes.
Besides having a built-in FPV screen, the 2.4 GHz RC controller also uses its own 3.7V 500mah battery instead of common shop batteries. This transmitter also excels in its controlling range. JJRC products are known for their above average control distance. H25G is no exception, this large camera quadcopter can fly as far as 200 meters! However, depending on flight conditions and transmission obstacles this range can be reduced. The 5.8 GHz live video transmission also has a 200 meter range. JJRC H25G is mainly an outdoor flier, however due to its stable hovering it also makes a good indoor flier.
Features, features, features here!
JJRC always makes sure their camera drones include useful features. Like many other JJRC products H25G features Headless Mode (for easier orientation despite where drone’s nose is pointing at) and One-Key Return (drone returns back to pilot). Also includes more common features such as LED lights for night flights and 360º aerial stunt with just the push of a button. Headless Mode will make it easier for beginners to fly the quadcopter, however if you truly wish to learn how to control any quadcopter eventually you must learn how to fly non-headless mode. Thanks to One-Key Return losing the drone won’t be an issue, fly as far as 200 meters with no worries, H25G can safely return to you. On the other hand, One-Key Return feature on H25G is a bit slower than the one seen on other quads therefore it will slowly return to you. Not an issue as long as it returns to you for more future fun flights! Talking about safety H25G features another function which prevents you from losing your drone. When battery starts running out of power H25G will issue a low voltage alarm warning the pilot to land the quadcopter before it completely runs out of battery. As you can see H25G is a good fit for FPV beginners, it’s important to learn and practice with a Toy Grade flier before you move on to higher-budget FPV drones.
